A Democrat in Utah?

What do you get when you put a democrat in Utah? A pretty lonely fellow. Dirk, my dear hubby, is a democrat. We live in a very republican party of Davis County. So, this past week, he went with his mom to the democratic caucus for our area. You can guess what happened. Six people showed up for his mom's precinct. In his precinct, Dirk was the ONLY ONE!! So not only does he get to be precinct chairman, he is now officially a DELEGATE and gets to vote in the democratic convention. So, where my vote as meager as it is can count, his will count much more because he is a real DELEGATE. Delegate by default is how I put it. He's happy though because ever since we got married, he has not had many opportunities to do politics, so this is his avenue to get back in to his college degree (political science).

So who's his choice? Obama or Clinton?

Yeah, who? Kind of exciting for him that the race is so close this time. Where's the convention? Does he have to pay his own way there, or does the party kick in for the ticket?

The Utah convention is in Salt Lake City. He's rooting for Obama. Most of his work will be in choosing democrats for the local primaries. He's excited! He also was contacted by a good friend of his who is running for davis county commisioner and he asked him to help with his campaign. So Dirk is in heaven - he loves campaigning.
